Hebrews 11: 27 “By faith he (Moses) forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right of the Throne of God.”

There are times when life confronts us with a trial or problem that we cannot avoid and we wonder how in the world we are going to live through it. We can learn from the experiences of Moses and can endure when we stand steadfast in our faith amidst trials. 

Moses had fled Egypt, not so much out of fear of Pharaoh, but because of the disappointment of not having been able to inspire his people with hope for which he had sacrificed all his earthly prospects. It is suggested by many writers and commentaries that Moses could have been the next Pharaoh of Egypt. We cannot know for sure.

We read in Hebrews 11:24-25, that when Moses was come of age, he refused to be called the son of Pharoah’s daughter, and chose, rather, to suffer with his own people. Moses endured his affliction by “seeing Him who is invisible.” Through the eyes of faith Moses saw God’s hand in it all. Yes, he had his moments of despair and doubt, but in it all he kept is eye on God. 

We, like Moses can endure the hardships and trials of life if we, in faith, keep our eyes on our invisible God. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith,” we can "mount up with wings as eagles, we can run, and not be weary," and so walk through our trials and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

God has promised to be with us when we walk through the fires of our trials and has promised to "keep us" in times of afflictions. The Psalmist wrote, “Yea, thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: FOR THOU ART WITH ME.” (Psalm 23:4)

For our part we must keep our eyes on Jesus, and endure as seeing Him who is invisible.
