Exodus 8:25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said," Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land."
Pharaoh, king of Egypt, offered Moses four compromises about serving the Lord. The first one is found in Exodus 8:25; “sacrifice to your God in the land.” In our time it would be, "OK, If you've got to worship your God, do it in your church buildings. Don’t Serve your God in public, keep it a private and personal thing. Do not share your faith in schools, parks or any place public, keep it to yourself." Moses refused this compromise and so should we. God has commanded us to go tell the world.
The second compromise is found in Exodus 8:28 “And Pharaoh said, I will let you go…. only ye shall not go very far away.” If you have just got to serve God, don’t get all caught up in it, don’t get carried away with it. The world does not care that you love and serve your God as long as you live your life like they do. As long as you do not start living out the Word of God in your daily life, the world couldn't care less. The world does not want you telling them about their need for salvation, because then you have gone too far. You have become a religious fanatic. Moses said no to this compromise and so should we.
In Exodus 10:11 we find the third compromise; “Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord; for that ye did desire.” This amounts to telling the parents it's ok for you to serve God, but don’t teach your children to serve God. The world does not want you to train up your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The world cannot stop you from serving God, but it will work hard to capture the minds of your children and bring them into the service of their worldview. Once again Moses said no to this Compromise. We must say no to turning our children over to the world.
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you. Exodus 10:24. Here we find Pharaoh’s last attempt at compromise. "Go serve the Lord but keep your possessions in the world." As Scripture says, "where your treasures are, there will your heart be also." God must be first in all aspect of our lives. If He is not Lord of your possessions, He not Lord at all.Moses wisely said no this compromise also, as must we.
Like Moses we have commandments and promises from God which must never be compromised. Satan has not changed his strategies, He is still in the business of offering these same four compromises which still must be rejected by God's people.
