John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

A great truth to consider: Eternal life does not start when you die and go to Heaven. Eternal life starts when you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ by grace through faith, seeing yourself as a sinner in need of a Savior, coming humbly to Christ, confessing your sinfulness, and receiving Him through faith as Savior. Jesus said “whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” We, at that moment, receive life eternal. While the body may physically die, the soul and spirit live on eternally. On Resurrection Day, even the body will be transformed--glorified--and live again, re-inhabited by our soul and spirit. Therefore, Jesus said, “though he were dead, yet shall he live.” The truly born-again believer is an eternal being now--not immortal yet--but truly eternal. On Resurrection Day when body, soul and spirit are one for all eternity, we become immortal beings, never more to die.  Death will be overcome for all eternity.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57” So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. “

And so, we are admonished to live our lives here as a child of the King. From the moment we receive Christ as Savior, our eternal lives were forever fixed. Christ has prepared our Heavenly home; we are eternal citizens of Heaven and on Resurrection Day we will put on immortality. “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So, when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:54-57” So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. “

What therefore is to be our lives while we inhabit our earthly bodies?

Our earthly sojourn is to be one that shows forth our ambassadorship and glorifies our Savior. Therefore, let us live our earthly lives like the Heavenly citizens and ambassadors we are. While we wait for immortality, let us live like the eternal beings we are.
