The Lord Jesus knew that nobody would understand. The crowd had laughed when He had said Jairus’s daughter was only sleeping. They knew she was dead and wondered what was wrong with Jesus. Sometimes the divine Son of God simply took action and didn’t explain. This was such a time. Others meant well, but only Jesus could make this matter right.

The blessed life the Prodigal seeks and longs for comes only from confessing and forsaking the sinfulness of their wayward life. Like the father in Christ's parable of the Prodigal Son, God is waiting and willing to forgive and restore to fellowship and blessing. There is mercy waiting...

Death is the great leveler of mankind. It is the inevitable end which awaits us all, save those who live to see the Rapture.  The Great Unknown! . . . What will we gain if we lose our own souls?  What would we give in exchange for our souls?
