From your school days, you may remember what an oxymoron is. It causes us to ask how two opposites could be true at the same time.  "Jumbo shrimp” and “Icy Hot” are oxymorons.  How could anything be both "big" and "little" or "icy" and "hot" at the same time?  "Mighty Lamb" sounds like an oxymoron, but as we examine this phrase a little deeper where we find it in Revelation 5...is it?

Just as Paul is about to be nabbed and killed over doctrinal clashes in Jerusalem, the commander of a Roman cohort swoops in to save him from certain doom. The commander truly helps him escape with his life but is clueless about Paul, the gospel, and disputes between Judaism and Christianity. He appears to be a fine officer, but the commander is tone-deaf.
